Get The Most Bang for your Buck at the Gas Pump

Gas Prices are on everyone's minds these days. The word "FUEL" has become the dreaded 4-letter word in some households. I've heard family members, friends, co-workers, and customers talk about rising prices of gas today.

As consumers, we might not be able to change the price of gas overnight, so it's a good idea to start with things we can control and that would be ...drum roll please....Maximizing our Fuel Economy.

No this is not a snooze alert.. I won't bore you with too many details, Scout's honor, just some helpful tips to help you get the most bang for your buck at the gas pump.

We are all looking for ways to save money and sometimes we penny pinch so much we skip our regular check ups. It turns out for your car (whether it's a Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Elantra, or Hyundai Tucson), the scheduled maintenance is pretty important when it comes to gas mileage. Here are Carolina Hyundai's recommended tips straight from our service technicians.

Get a 3 stage fuel system service that includes cleaning of throttle body, cleaning of fuel injectors, and using a fuel additive. All of these reduce the amount of carbon that's in your engine. When you have less carbon in your engine, you increase the air circulation which increases the efficiency of the air fuel mixture. (This is a good thing) Adding a fuel injector every 15,000 miles when you fuel up helps too, because this also reduces the carbon.
Another helpful tip is to check your tire pressure. WHY? Having a good tire pressure creates less resistance for your vehicle to move, making your vehicle more efficient in the gas mileage department. Most vehicles require a measurement of 33 for your tire pressure.

Adding a fuel injector every 15,000 miles when you fuel up helps too, because this also reduces the carbon.

Get your regular maintenance.. this helps to make your car run more efficiently which effects gas mileage.

So whether you get your service done at our dealership or somewhere else (let's be honest here, we would really rather you get it done at Carolina Hyundai in High Point) you are now more away of what you can do to help save money at the pump.

And one more thing, here's a coupon to help you save some money..
